A cold, a migraine, fatigue that won't lift. It's not bad luck. It's your immune system responding to what stress has done to it.

    Stress Is Not Just "in Your Head"

    The problem starts when stress doesn't stop. When the threat is not a single event but a constant state, your body keeps producing cortisol. And while cortisol is helpful in short bursts, chronically elevated cortisol suppresses your immune system.
