Who we are
TapIntoCalmness (Tap Into Calmness) publishes informational articles, practical tools, and an online course about the nervous system, EFT tapping, and mental health. This policy explains which personal data we process, why, and how long we keep it.
For privacy questions or requests you can reach us at info@tapintocalmness.com.
Self-Assessment data
When you complete the Self-Assessment, your individual answers stay in your browser. They are not sent to our server, not sent to MailerLite, not sent to analytics services or any other third party, and they are not stored. They are used in your browser only, to calculate your assessment result. Your individual answers are therefore not available to Tap Into Calmness.
The Self-Assessment is a reflection and educational tool. It is not a diagnostic test and does not provide a medical or psychological diagnosis. Completing it does not establish the presence or absence of a mental health condition.
When you request your results by email
If you choose to receive your results by email, we process the following information:
- your email address;
- your assessment result (your result profile);
- your secondary pattern, if one applies to your result;
- the four summary scores (activation, lower activation, capacity, recovery);
- the assessment completion timestamp and your consent information, as far as necessary for the assessment-result process.
What is stored is a summary of your assessment result, not your individual answers. Your individual question answers are never stored. Because your email address is part of this step, requesting your results by email is not anonymous, and the stored result summary can be visible to the site owner in our own administration and in MailerLite.
We do not store your IP address, device identifiers, browser fingerprints, unnecessary location data, or account data for the assessment.
Assessment-result consent
Receiving your assessment results requires your active consent to the processing and temporary storage that is necessary to provide those results. You give this consent with a separate checkbox on the results page, and the moment of consent is recorded. This consent covers the assessment-result emails only. It is not marketing consent.
Marketing consent
General marketing and newsletter emails require a separate, optional marketing consent, which is unchecked by default. Completing the assessment or requesting your assessment results does not by itself constitute consent to receive general marketing emails. Only visitors who actively give marketing consent are treated and retained as general newsletter subscribers. You can withdraw this consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
Email confirmation (double opt-in)
The assessment email process uses email confirmation (double opt-in) through our email provider. After you submit your email address, the provider sends a confirmation email. The assessment email sequence starts after your email address has been confirmed. This prevents assessment emails from being sent to an address that the recipient did not confirm.
MailerLite
We use MailerLite as our email provider to deliver the assessment emails and, where applicable, general marketing and newsletter emails. Your email address and, for the assessment sequence, your assessment result summary information may temporarily be processed by MailerLite for that purpose. Your individual assessment answers are never sent to MailerLite.
Retention and deletion
Assessment-specific result information is retained only for as long as it is necessary to deliver the assessment result email sequence. Once that sequence has been completed, the assessment-specific result information is removed from our database, and the corresponding assessment-specific custom fields are cleared from MailerLite.
If you did not give separate marketing consent, your record is deleted entirely at that point. If you did separately subscribe to the general newsletter, your email address and the information necessary for that newsletter subscription may remain for that purpose. Your assessment profile, secondary pattern, and assessment scores are not retained as part of a general newsletter subscription.
Security and data minimization
The assessment is designed to collect as little personal information as possible: your individual answers never leave your device, and only the minimum result information needed to email you your result is temporarily stored. Data is transmitted over HTTPS, and access to the stored records is restricted to authorized server-side processes. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we work with data minimization as the first line of protection.
To limit spam and abuse of the public results form, we use basic rate limiting based on irreversible technical hashes rather than stored IP addresses, and those throttling records are removed automatically.
Newsletter signups
If you subscribe to the newsletter directly (for example through the signup form on the site), we process your email address and your subscription status only. This also uses double opt-in confirmation through MailerLite. No assessment information is involved.
Cookies and analytics
We use only the technical storage needed for the site to work, such as remembering that a newsletter invitation has already been shown to you in your browser. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles, and no assessment answers are ever placed in cookies, local storage, or the page URL.
Third parties
Besides MailerLite, we use hosting and database services to run this website, and our shop and course are hosted on external platforms (Etsy and our course platform). When you follow a link to those platforms, their own privacy policies apply to what happens there.
Your rights under the GDPR
If you are in the EU or EEA, you have the right to access your personal data, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because your individual answers are never stored, a request can only relate to your email address and, while it still exists, your temporarily stored result summary. You can send a request to info@tapintocalmness.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
Educational nature of this website
All content on this website, including the Self-Assessment, is informational and educational. It does not replace professional medical or psychological care and does not provide a diagnosis. If your symptoms affect your daily life, please consider speaking with a qualified professional.
Changes to this policy
When our processing changes, we update this page and the date at the top. Please check back occasionally for the current version.
